Meet the friendly staff at St. Francis Animal Hospital!
Dr. Jeremee Lewis was raised in central Kentucky. He attended Eastern Kentucky University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 2013. Following his undergraduate career, he moved to Auburn Alabama where he attended Auburn University College of Veterinary medicine, and graduated in 2017. Completing his veterinary degree, he returned to Kentucky to begin working as a small animal practitioner. During his time in Kentucky, he noticed a need to learn ASL (American Sign Language) in order to better communicate with his deaf client. Dr. Lewis is not fluent in ASL, however, he is comfortable enough to hold a conversation and strives to improve his skills. Dr. Lewis lives with his wife Amanda , and their 3 dogs; Shelby, Diesel, and Casper. When not at work, Dr. Lewis enjoys to spend his time either outdoors hiking, fishing, stargazing, or inside cooking/baking, or playing the guitar or trumpet. Dr. Lewis interest is alternative medicine, neurology, and rehabilitation.
Dr. Jody Grzybowski-Stiefel grew up as an army brat and traveled all over the country with her family. She settled in MA and graduated with a BS in Environmental Biology at Westfield State College. She then followed her family to VA and attended Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Graduating in 2006, she started her career in a small animal practice. In addition to her education in western medicine, she is certified in veterinary acupuncture and trained for veterinary tui-na (massage/chiropractics) and food therapy by the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Florida. She believes the best medicine is obtained by integrating traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine. Other areas of her interest include surgery and ultrasonography. She thoroughly enjoys her clients and spending time getting to know them and educating them on their pets specific health concerns.
When not taking care of your pets, she is taking care of her two sweet and silly kids and her two dogs. In her free time you can always find her at yoga and CrossFit (she is an RYT 200 certified yoga instructor and a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, as well) or you can find her reading a good book at a local coffee shop, cooking and baking in the kitchen or going on all sorts of adventures with her friends and family.
Dr. Trisha Metzger graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She practiced for one year at a mixed animal veterinary clinic in Wisconsin before venturing east to Virginia. After nearly two years of practice outside of Williamsburg, VA she eventually settled in the Stafford area. She spent the last 14 years living out her life’s’ passion in the area as a small animal vet. She is so excited to join the team at St Francis Animal Hospital.
Despite its unique challenges, Dr. Metgzer truly loves being a veterinarian and is thankful she can make her life’s passion her career. She is a member of AAFA (American Association of Feline Practitioners), AEMV (Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians), and VECCS (veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society).
In her personal time Dr. Metzger enjoys gardening and assorted home improvement projects, kayaking, hiking, camping crafts, cooking, swimming and spending time with friends. She has a minor obsession with guinea pigs. Whenever possible loves to return to the frozen tundra of Wisconsin to visit family and remember what real snow and winter look like.
Her furry family members include three feline friends: Reggie, Sherwin Williams, Reuben. Her guinea pig herd consists of Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Chili and Pepper. Someday she will fulfill her dream of having a pair Greyhounds (but her current feline family members will not allow it).

Ellyn joined the St. Francis Animal Hospital family as a veterinary assistant in July 2019. In the Spring of 2016, Ellyn graduated from the University of Dayton with her bachelor's in Biology. In the Fall of 2018 Ellyn began her training to become a licensed veterinary technician by starting the veterinary technology program at Northern Virginia Community College. She eventually hopes to become a licensed zoo veterinary technician for the Smithsonian's National Zoo. Her love for animals came from her dog, Sir Maxwell Montgomery Davis, a stubborn little old Westie with a huge heart and a whole lot of personality. He taught her that even through life's toughest moments it is important to enjoy life's journey and he showed her how to give unconditional love to others.
